Pour-Over Instructions

Pour-over devices allow the user to control every aspect of the brewing process. Whether you’re using the classic Chemex, Kalita Wave or Hario V60, use this guide as a starting place to brew great coffee at home.
You’ll need:
- Pour-over brewer
- Matching filters
- Gram scale
- Timer
- Spoon or stir stick
- Grinder
- Gooseneck kettle
- Filtered water
- Fresh roasted coffee
- Generously rinse the filter to remove any paper taste, then discard the rinse water.
- Grind the coffee medium-fine, similar to the consistency of black pepper. Add it to the brewer and tare the scale.
- Start the timer and pour just enough water (50-100 grams) to bloom the coffee. Stir gently to ensure even saturation.
